Attachments

Attachments can be added to a number of entities within Skills Base and can also be linked to Custom Field assignments (See Custom Fields to learn more about setting up Custom Fields in your Skills Base instance).


File Formats

A number of different file formats are accepted for upload.

  • Image files
  • Microsoft Office files
  • Open Office files
  • Apple productivity files (.pages, .numbers, .keynote)
  • PDF
  • Text files
  • Rich text
  • Outlook email messages


Adding Attachments to Entities


People

Adding an attachment to a Person can be done through the "Attachments" dashboard menu item for the individual.

Simply click the "Add an attachment" button


Then select the "Choose File" button to select the file from your device to upload.

You can also add a Description to the attachment to identify it later.


Roles

Adding an attachment to a Role can be done through the "Attachments" dashboard menu item for the individual.

Simply click the "Add an attachment" button



Then select the "Choose File" button to select the file from your device to upload.

You can also add a Description to the attachment to identify it later.




Custom Fields

The Attachment Custom Field type can be added to:

  • People
  • Qualification Assignment
  • Role Assignment
  • Skill

After creating a Custom Field, you will be able to assign the related attachment by adding a new item, or editing an existing item.

The "Attachment" field will be visible, allowing the user to assign an attachment that has been previously uploaded (for People, Role Assignment or Qualification Assignment) or upload a new attachment.



Administrators

Administrators will have access to the "Attachments" dashboard under the "Admin" menu item.  This will allow them to view/review all attachments linked to all entities within their Skills Base instance
